What connects you to the Region of Murcia?
It was my grandparents, natives of Lorca, who emigrated to Argentina in 1926, always looking for a new and better horizon, dreaming of that America, which perhaps many, at that time, saw as the panacea.
Having always heard about Murcia and their beloved Lorca, along with the Murcian and especially Lorca friends with whom they were always connected here on this side of the pond, made us relive that distant land, its customs, its roots, its anecdotes, and above all the memory and communication with the family that, thank God, was never lost despite the distance.
What's the best thing about your life outside?
The most important thing is my family, made up of my wife, my brothers, her brothers and all the nephews who make life beautiful and interesting.
Today I have part of my family, my mother, sister, direct nephews and cousins living in the Region of Murcia, which motivates me to visit the Region whenever I have the opportunity.
My life in these lands is very interesting, given that I dedicate myself to private teaching as an economic activity, but also at a social level I am presiding over the Murcian Center in Cordoba (created on May 18, 1992 with Lázaro Albarracín as president) and I am an Honorary Collaborator of the University of Murcia in Argentina, which keeps me permanently in contact with the Region, trying to promote it in all its aspects: gastronomic, cultural, social, tourist, educational and why not in the commercial.
In addition, I am president of the CRE of the Córdoba Consular District and General Councilor for Argentina in the CGCEE, which not only keeps me in contact with the Murcian community and the Spanish community in general.
What would make you settle in the Region of Murcia someday?
Family, tranquility, good weather and friends would be important reasons for moving my life to the Region.
It's not easy for those of us who already have a life established abroad, but that possibility is never ruled out.
What is the first thing you do every time you visit the Region of Murcia?
The first thing I do is visit and spend time with my family, enjoy their celebrations, and enjoy their climate, landscapes, and gastronomy.
Representing the Region of Murcia abroad, being able to showcase its tourist attractions, gastronomy, landscapes, customs, and people, and representing its University, is a pleasure difficult to define, if not a feeling that fills a large part of my life and that drives me to continue doing it, uniting families, people, and why not, administrations and companies on both sides of that great pond that separates us.
