Regional houses

Introduction
The Regional Government recognizes the importance of Murcian Communities established abroad, considering them a key element in fostering unity and connection among citizens of this Region and their descendants living in other parts of Spain or abroad. Currently, there are twenty-four officially recognized Murcian Communities (Regional Houses or other types of associations), located both within Spain (16) and in Argentina, France, and Sweden.
Thirty years ago, the Autonomous Community enacted the law that recognizes Murcian Communities established outside the Region. Its main goal is to “guarantee all Murcians living beyond the regional territory, as well as their associations and social centers, the recognition of their identity, along with the right to collaborate in and share the social and cultural life of the Region of Murcia.”
Participation in decision-making on this matter takes place through the Regional Advisory Council of Murcian Communities established outside the Region.

Regional Advisory Council of Murcian Communities
The Regional Advisory Council of Murcian Communities established outside the Region is a body composed of social and economic agents, representatives of the regional administration, and political groups with seats in the Regional Assembly of Murcia. Its main purpose is to propose to the Regional Government actions aimed at supporting Murcian emigrants.
In addition, the Council serves as a forum for dialogue between Murcian Communities abroad and public and private entities in the Region, allowing the development of proposals that materialize into concrete actions, projects, or studies.
The Council is also responsible for preparing an annual report of activities, advising on the recognition of new Murcian Communities as they are created, and proposing the annual subsidies granted to these communities.
